Relationship & Family Counseling

How We Approach Relationship & Family Counseling

Hilltop Counseling offers couples and family counseling to clients who want support in forming healthier relationships and family units. Relationships and families are also impacted by major life adjustments and stressors and at times need support in communicating effectively. Hilltop’s owner and clinical supervisor, Keri Willis-Higgons, is trained in the Gottman Method of couples therapy and enjoys supporting couples in their quest to attain a deeper connection and healthier communication. Hilltop Counseling also has counselors trained in working with adoptive and foster parents and families, couples facing fertility issues, as well as supporting parents in navigating the education system.

Do You Offer Remote Therapy?

Telehealth services are available and offered using a secure, HIPAA compliant platform. Telehealth services will continue to be an option for clients as needed for health reasons or convenience of not having to come into an office setting. In person appointments are also available.

How Many Sessions Should I Anticipate?

This typically depends on your individual/group needs and goals. Our staff of professionals are available to guide you and build a plan suitable to your pace and needs. Some clients find that they can reduce overall sessions as they learn coping techniques in the first few months.

Do You Accept Insurance?

Hilltop Counseling accepts several forms of insurance; however, some services provided may have limited or unreimbursable costs. Further down on this page, you can find more in-depth information about our insurance partners and policies. Give us a call to learn more about how your insurance may support your needs.

Our goal at Hilltop Counseling is to support clients in their mental health journeys in a relatable, professional, and ethical manner.

Accepted Insurances At This Time

Please note that couples therapy is not always reimbursable by insurance companies and we would be happy to talk to you more about this during our initial call. If we do not take your insurance or do not have a counselor available who takes your insurance, we will provide a Good Faith Estimate of providing services outside of your insurance network.

* Good Faith Estimate Notice *
Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
